Roaming Pokémon: Difference between revisions

Roaming Pokémon is a spawn mechanic where certain Pokémon move from one location to another at the start of every hour (XX:00 UTC, although depending on the player's time zone offset, this may be XX:30 or XX:45 local time). The mechanic was introduced to Pokémon Vortex in Version 5, with additional Roaming Pokémon added in Version 6.

The locations of Roaming Pokémon are random, although subject to certain restrictions listed below. A given Pokémon's location is not known until the first player finds it (and announces it, typically via Discord), after which others have the rest of the hour to search for it in the same location. For example, if a player finds a Gouging Fire at 3:15 UTC, other players will have 45 minutes to hunt for it before it respawns.

Spawning restrictions

Some general rules to Roaming Pokémon are:

They will never spawn in water
They will never spawn in caves or indoor locations, such as the Upper Steelmouth Plant
They will never spawn in towns or cities, with the exception of New Haven
More than one Roaming Pokémon can be in the same location during the hour
The new spawn location can be the same as the previous location
They will spawn during both day and night, through the entire hour

Roamer of the Month

The following Pokémon are part of the Roamer of the Month events and have a fixed rotation order. Each Roamer of the Month event lasts one month from the 1st to the last day (UTC timezone).

The current Roamer of the Month and the one that is next can be seen in the game on the dashboard. For further months, refer to this list as they do not change order.

Once the list has ended, the cycle starts again with Mewtwo (Shadow).
