Variants are a game mechanic in Pokémon Vortex that give Pokémon different appearances, as well as stat bonuses or special effects. A Pokémon's variant is set when it's generated by the game (such as when it appears in the wild or a promo code is created) and cannot be changed.

There are 6 obtainable variants for each Pokémon contained within the main Pokédex and 17 Pokémon within the Side Pokédex that do not have 5 of the usual variants but instead, only have a Normal variant.
