What is a Clan Pokédex?

The Clan Pokédex in Pokémon Vortex is a living Pokédex of a clan, it records all the available Pokémon that can be caught. All the members of a clan can contribute towards the Clan Pokédex entries. The Clan Pokédex entries contribute to the total experience of the clan as well. If players are looking to increase their clan's total experience to push up the clan leaderboards, they must make sure that the Pokémon (which is gaining experience) is registered in their clan's Pokédex for it to be able to contribute towards the total experience of the clan. Any member can contribute as many entries and there is no limit to how much one can contribute towards the Pokédex. Since multiple members are able to contribute towards one singular Pokédex, there are some factors that must be kept in mind before starting to complete it as the Clan Pokédex works a bit different compared to a singular player's Pokédex.

Total completion % (top); Region completion % (bottom)

The Clan Pokédex is categorised by regions. The Pokémon of each region can be viewed in their respective tabs. The Clan Pokédex displays a total as well as a region specific completion percentage.

How to register a Pokémon

Catching on the Map

The first Pokémon of its kind (variant) is contributed to the clan Pokédex. All further catches of this kind will not count until this Pokémon is either released or evolved. With this in mind, Evolutions should be prioritised while attempting to fill a clan Pokédex. When the Evolution is obtained, the clan can then go and catch the pre-evolution again to regain the missing Pokédex entry. Planning and communication is key to filling a clan Pokédex.

A registered Pokemon has an icon to the bottom left of its sprite signifying its registration. Pokémon in your box can also be filtered by ClanDex.

Evolving Pokémon

If you evolve a Pokémon that is registered in the clan dex, the registration for that specific Pokémon is lost. For example, If Player A has a Fuecoco that they evolve into a Crocalor, the clan loses the registration for the Fuecoco but gains the Crocalor registration (overall clan registration remains the same). However, if Crocalor was previously registered, then the clan loses the Fuecoco registration but doesn't gain another registration (overall clan registration goes down by one). If that same Fuecoco was to be evolved into a Skeledirge, one way would be to evolve the Crocalor first into Skeledirge and then evolve the Fuecoco into the Crocalor OR follow the seasonal stacking for evolutions.

Seasonal Stacking

The other way to fill the spot of an evolution is by catching the pre-evolution and evolving it in the SAME season. A Fuecoco that was caught in the previous season will NOT fill the spot of a Crocalor if that Fuecoco was not registered in the dex at the time of evolution. However, a Fuecoco caught in the current season can be evolved and be registered to an empty spot of either the Crocalor or Skeledirge.

Deregistration

A Pokemon can be deregistered by 1 of 3 people. The owner, the Leader of the clan or the Co-Leader. The deregistration button can be found by viewing the information of your Pokemon and clicking the deregistration button or the Clan Dex page. Note that there is NO confirmation button and clicking it once will immediately deregister the Pokemon. Any and all experience on the Pokemon will be lost from the total clan experience if it is to be deregistered. Once deregistered, the spot for that Pokemon opens up and the next one of its kind to be caught gets registered. A Pokemon CANNOT be reregistered once it has been deregistered.

Also note that a Pokemon will NOT be deregistered without manual deregistration. This means that trading away or selling a Pokemon will retain the registration despite it being on a different account (which may or may not be in the same clan as the original trainers). This means that that Pokemon CANNOT contribute any more experience to the clan than what is already present on the Pokemon at the time of the trade/sale. This Pokemon can be trained again by the original owner, which will then continue to contribute to the clan. Releasing a Pokemon automatically deregisters it.

Experience Gain

Experience gain is vital for clans to climb up the leaderboard. Experience can only be contributed to the clan by Pokemon that are currently registered in the Clan Dex. Registered Pokemon can only gain exp that can be contributed if it is trained on the same account that it was caught in and registered to the Dex by.
