Ancient Pokemon were a variant of Pokemon in Pokemon Vortex until Administrators decided to remove this variant and replace it with the Metallic variant. These Pokemon were displayed on site up through version 2 of Pokemon Vortex and were first added on December 16, 2009. They were made by Masqeurain3, a former forum moderator on Pokémon Vortex. They are a brownish color to represent the theme of "ancient", being made to look very old. They also have a 25% defense bonus in battles, the same as their replacement, Metallic Pokemon. Ancient Pokemon cannot be used on Pokemon Vortex anymore.
