Magikarp Splash was a minigame added to Vortex for the 2018 April Fools day event. The game involved players controlling a Magikarp to collect berries, while avoiding hazards such as Pidgeot and Sharpedo attacks. If the player was "eaten" by these Pokemon, the game would be over.

Gameplay

Actual gameplay.

The gameplay of this minigame was particularly difficult, appropriately reflecting the "April Fools" aspect of the event. Pidgeot and Sharpedo attacks were frequent, and practically impossible to avoid resulting in many "game overs" for players. Due to this, most players struggled to accumulate a large number of points which made the top prizes difficult to reach. However, the event was enjoyed by many and proved very popular as seen by the number of players who participated.
