Clans are a great way to meet other players, strengthen ties with existing friends and to find members to trade with. While much of Pokemon Vortex is centred around your personal efforts, clans are based on working together as a small group.

How to Create a Clan

The player who wishes to create a clan must have an account that is atleast 7 days old, creating a clan also requires 100,000 pokedollars from the player. The player must type in a name for the clan, along with a 3 letter nametag (the tag appears next to the clan member's name which is visible on the live map), they can also add a description and select the clan status to be 'Open', 'Invite Only' or 'Closed'. It is important to note that it is possible to change a clan's status, description and tag but the clan name can not be changed after the clan is created.

Structure of a Clan

A clan can have a maximum of 35 players. These include players with one of 4 roles: Leader, Co-leader, Elite and Member. There can only be 1 Leader, 3 Co-leaders and 10 Elites. Clan members can leave the clan, contribute experience/dex entries/wins and join challenges. Elites can do all of those but also invite other players to join the clan. The Leader and Co-leaders can do everything members and elites can but also create/start challenges, kick members(co-leaders cannot kick other co-leaders), change the roles of members (co-leaders cannot change the roles of fellow co-leaders or the leader), send out clan notices and change the clan tag/clan status. It is to note that a clan Leader must transfer leadership before they can leave the clan.

Clan Challenges

Clan challenge is a feature that allows leaders or co-leaders to create challenges which can be completed by participants. Leaders/Co-leaders can start a challenge of 2 types: 'Catch a Pokemon' where a Pokemon is selected along with its variant which can be caught to complete the challenge or 'Win Battles', where any amount ranging from 100-10000 battles need to be won to complete the challenge. Leaders/Co-leaders can add rewards to the reward pool which are sourced from their account's inventory. The challenge duration can be 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 30 days. Once a challenge is put up, all members can view it and participate if they so wish, to compete for the rewards. Once a challenge ends, the winner is automatically awarded the reward.

Clan Management Tips

There are a number of ways to promote your clan, which includes asking your friends and posting an advert in the #Clan-Recruitment channel in Pokemon Vortex's official Discord server. Before getting to the recruitment stage, be sure to have a clear view of what your clan is going to be like, and any sort of requirements you will have for members to meet in order to join. If you are aiming to have a top clan, this would typically have higher requirements in order to join, this could include things like a user's activity level, how long they have been playing, and a commitment to partake in clan activities. Successful clans generally have incentives to attract potential members. This can range from clan exclusive giveaways, clan-run events and some even create private Discord servers for their members.

Joining and Picking the Right Clan

It can be hard to find the right clan with so many options and different kinds, but the decision can be made a bit easier by reflecting on your commitment level and what you're looking for in a clan. * If you're a competitive player and wish to help a clan progress through the ranks, choosing an active one that is on the top clans list would be a great start. You may need to work towards meeting requirements in order to join. * If you are more casual and just want to play alongside a group, making likeminded friends and asking to be in their clan may provide you with that environment. Places where people post their clan adverts to recruit can be a great place to look, it gives a good indication of which clans are active, and you can ask questions about what their clan can provide and what they're about, to see if they would be a good fit.

How to Increase Clan Points

You can increase your clans points and position on the leaderboard in several ways. These include filling the Clan Pokédex, gaining experience on clan registered Pokemon and doing Seasonal Tower Battles. It should be noted that the battles done on Seasonal Tower Battles reset each season and will not permanently provide points past the season they were done in.

Experience gained on Clan Registered Pokemon contribute to the overall clan exp.
