Over time, as Pokémon Vortex progresses, sometimes Pokémon are removed completely. The reasons for this can vary from things such as the Pokémon was mistakenly added as a separate Pokémon ([[Giratina (Sky)]]), or development went off the initial design of a Pokémon ([[Celebi (Eternal)]]).

While the number of Pokémon that get removed is very low and far between, the community does show it's feeling of loss as some of these Pokémon have proven to be fan favourites.

Aside the removal of Pokémon, there are some Pokémon that get designed with the intention of being added to Pokémon Vortex but never quite make it. These are typically dress-ups and forms of existing Pokémon for holiday event purposes such as [[Diglett (Christmas)]].
