Squirtle (Japanese: ゼニガメ Zenigame) is an Water-type Pokémon. It is one of the three starter pokemon available at the beginning of the Generation I games Red and Blue. Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at level 16.
Locations
Squirtle can be caught on all water maps during the day and night.
Availability
Squirtle is currently available within Pokémon Vortex through the following methods:
- Capture (Without completion of all Gyms, Elite 4's, Battle Frontier's, Battle Maison)
- Starter (Select it as your starter Pokémon while registration)
- Trade

With the game transition from Version 2 to Version 3, Ancient Pokémon were replaced with Metallic Pokémon. This change made it currently impossible to obtain the Ancient version of Squirtle and every other Pokémon.
It is unsure whether these will be seen in the game again but development shows no interest of ever bringing them back.
